Employment Network Infographic Spotlights Holiday Hiring, Year-End Bonuses

New York, NY, December 16, 2013 - With the holiday season in full swing, the Employment Network, the largest career and job marketer on the Internet, offers a sneak peek into the latest workplace trends.

The newest “Holiday Workplace Trends” infographic at the company’s flagship site,, features statistics about holiday hiring, year-end bonuses, workplace gift-giving, holiday party shenanigans, and extended holiday breaks for employees. The seasonal images provide a fun and festive backdrop to the salient topic of seasonal employment and what employees can expect at their workplace this winter.

“Seasonal employment is an excellent opportunity for workers to make some holiday cash and also get their foot in the door at a company for which they’d like to work year-round,” says Jordon Keltz, CEO of the Employment Network. “In fact, as the infographic reveals, 30 percent of retailers plan to hire at least one-quarter of their seasonal workers as full-time staff after the holiday season.”

The infographic, which includes statistics from the Society for Human Resource Management; Harris Interactive; Challenger, Gray & Christmas; and others, features key points such as:

  • 25 percent of retailers plan to hire more seasonal workers than they did in 2012.
  • 78 percent of American workers would rather receive a great holiday gift than have an office party.
  • 64 percent of Americans have called in sick or know someone who has missed a day of work due to a hangover after attending a holiday party.
  • 72 percent of employers plan to award some type of year-end/holiday bonus.
  • Boeing employees get to recharge witha winter recess between Christmas and New Year’s Day, but Yahoo employees no longer receive that week of rest.

“At the Employment Network, we’re committed to helping individuals navigate the full spectrum of workplace concerns, from hiring to bonuses to vacation time,” adds Keltz. “It’s all part of finding the right job for you.”
